Quail Drive homicide suspect injured during pursuit that crossed state lines, sheriff’s office says

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities have identified a suspect connected to a March 30 homicide investigation.

Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Quail Drive, where an adult man was found dead in the yard.

Through an investigation, detectives said they were able to identify Damien Beach as the primary and sole suspect in the case.

Beach suffered serious injuries while attempting to evade law enforcement during a vehicle pursuit that ended across state lines in Georgia. He is currently being hospitalized and receiving medical treatment.

The sheriff’s office said in a Tuesday afternoon update that Beach will be taken into custody and formally charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime once he is medically cleared.
