Joint Base Charleston to conduct medical response exercise

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Joint Base Charleston on Thursday will hold a medical response exercise with partners from across the community.

Officials with JBC said the multi-day event will simulate an aircraft mishap with a mass-casualty scenario designed to test the Regional Mass Casualty Plan, which was developed by Joint Base Charleston and Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties.

Base agencies are expected to work with 18 community partners to enhance multi-agency coordination, disaster response and medical readiness across the Lowcountry region.
