Colleton County deputies investigating deadly drive-by shooting

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Colleton County are investigating a deadly drive-by shooting.

Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on King Street in Walterboro around 3:40 p.m. Saturday and found one person dead in the backyard of a home.

The sheriff’s office believes the shooting was a targeted attack involving multiple people exchanging gunfire.

Detectives have identified a person of interest. They are currently processing evidence and conducting interviews.

“The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting our community and takes this level of violence very seriously,” the agency said.
