1 injured in structure fire on John’s Island
JOHN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — Fire crews from several local agencies responded to a structure fire on John’s Island Tuesday and were able to save one victim.
Around 3:30 p.m. crews with St. John’s Fire District responded to a residence on Cane Slash Road. When firefighters arrived, they learn the home was occupied by an individual. First responders were able to “pull the victim outside,” said Fire Chief Ryan Kunitzer with St. John’s Fire.
The victim was given first aid by EMS in the front yard before being taken to a local hospital. The condition of the individual is unknown at this time. No other injuries were reported.
St. John’s Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
Crews with the Charleston Fire Department, James Island Fire Department, Charleston County EMS and Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to this incident.
